You do not state what browser you are using either, in Firefox the pages can sometimes be slow depending on what plugins you have installed as well. We have a site here that we use, and under firefox it takes 3 secs to do what it has to do and under IE it is immediate. When we use a plain vanilla firefox installation it is instant as well.
