Not sure how you're trying to install it and what configuration
you're running, but from what you're saying, I assume that you
have CF 7 installed as the CF-on-a-full-JRun-4-Installation
(second option in the installer) which assumes you're not running
CF 7 as the integrated Server install.

If you have a full Jrun 4 install as above with CF 7 deployed in
one of the Jrun 4 instances, you should be able to create another
instance and deploy CF 8 into that instance. The requirements
for CF 8 are Jrun 4 Updater 6 - make sure you are on this patch
level. If you're not, I could see why the connector tool could
be complaining.

Cheers,
Kai
