Mike,

Your laptop is running what Operating System and is it 32/64 bit?

If it is 64bit you are currently out of luck, unless it is the one supported
64bit OS. If you are running windows xp/vista 32 bit, then there is a link
in the startup menu for connectivity setup. If it is linux then there is a
script in the bin directory.

Now having said all that, are you running on a fresh install of Apache there
is a known issue with connection to a certain version of Apache and up due
to the way the config file locations have changed.

Would have been nice if you told us which OS / Webserver you are using.

Subject: [cfaussie] how to manually configure CF8 web server connectors

I live in hope that installling CF8 will one day be simple and
straightforward like everyone else's seems to be. I'm trying to
install CF8 on my development laptop and have got stymied. When i
start the web server configuation tool, it gives me a message that:

The JRun server(s) found on host 127.0.0.1 must be upgraded to use this
version
of the Web Server Configuration tool.

I went looking for a knowledgebase article but there's nothing on the
Adobe site i could find that describes how to manually configure web
servers for CF8. Lots of stuff for earlier versions, but nothing i
could find for CF8.

I'm trying to install CF8 on my development laptop while still leaving
CF7 functional. I use Apache as my web server.

so ... do i need to find a new version of jrun somewhere?

Do i have to uninstall CF8 and start again with different options?
Do i have to keep looking for a doc on how to manually configure web
servers for CF8?

Help!
