Twas the night before Christmas
when all through the data centre
not a creature was stirring
the monitoring team were out on a bender.

The power was out
The UPS could not cope
The air conditioning shut down
There just wasn't anymore hope.

The servers were hot,
the router was shot
The Apples were MACsed out.
The windows servers were not patched and getting attacked by a bot.

Novel was Netware fiction
Suse was snoozing
Red Hat had crushed first
I'm sure I saw Ubunto oozing.

Corfield's cloud evaporated in the heat
Kotek's objects and methods not looking so neat
Spring had uncoiled
Hibernate awoken and droned
Transfer relocated
Mandel could only muster a moan.

Priest prayed for an Ant trail
Make check simply reported fail
The Fusebox was all tripped
Reactor just couldn't
Java was in a heap, while C pointed nowhere
and mX unit just couldn't.

Then out of the dark
Came a most brilliant light
It was full of efficiency
A fabulous white
It shone like silver, a metal hue
It had become everyone's button home
Hallelujah, the saviour
Google's almighty Chrome.
