What barcode standard is it, Taco? There are dozens of barcode standards, depending on what they're to be used for, and many of them only work if you have correctly calculated the check digit as the last character. I think barcode 3 of 9 is a simple font with no check digit, so if you use that one, you'll get a higher likelihood of a read error, but to barcode 12345 you only need to output 12345 in the Barcode3of9 font. If you use any other barcode font, you'll need to calculate the check digit or the reader wont accept the number as valid.
