Hi, Andrew. Just to clarify, he is saying that his code runs fine on CF10 for him, and it doesn’t work for him on 8. He’s wanting to understand why, and if there may be anything he can do that would allow it to work.
Are you saying you already know that something about that specific code won’t work on 8 but would on 10? He gets that 10 is better. He just doesn’t as readily see why it would not work on 8. Seems a fair question. Still, I totally get why you would (and really anyone should) want to encourage people to move off older versions, and not struggle to get thins working on them, if an upgrade would fix it. Still, sometimes people’s hands are tied. That said, I saw your later note just now responding to Omer, who was running on 6. At least he is indeed upgrading. It just takes some people time to get their ducks in a row. And I realize there’s a fine line between helping such folks and only prolonging their mistaken situation. :-) You’re using “tough love”. Fair enough. /charlie From: cfaussie@googlegroups.com [mailto:cfaussie@googlegroups.com] On Behalf Of Andrew Scott Sent: Tuesday, August 18, 2015 1:06 AM To: cfaussie@googlegroups.com Subject: Re: [cfaussie] cfdocument issue in CF8 - create PDF out of HTML ColdFusion 8 is no longer supported. The differences you're experiencing would be due to the major changes, fixes and enhancements that ColdFusion has had since ColdFusion 8. I suggest upgrading to ColdFusion 11. Below is the code I used to produce the PDF. Basically what I'm doing is using CSS absolute positioning to define A4 page with 4x2 labels on it. Then use cfdocument to convert the HTML into PDF. The PDFs produced are quite different in CF10 and CF8. The margins of the borders are a bit different and also the font size rendered in CF8 is much bigger. Can anyone who still got CF8 try the code below and if you can share some findings/thoughts that will be great? <snip> -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "cfaussie" group.
