its all working now, found a simple solution, just made sure I had the
correct video card drviers on the servers in question

I had issues similar to this a while ago - CF was running fine on my dev
box but when I tried to use the cfchart component it wouldn't work. So
try this:
Check in the IIS Admin that there is a JRunScripts virtual directory
mapped in which should point to something like
C:\CfusionMX\runtime\lib\wsconfig\1
I've had problems before where this had not gotten installed by the
installer - luckily there is a connector script located under
c:\cfusionmx\bin\connectors\IIS_connector.bat - If you run this it should
setup the connection between CF and IIS correctly.
