Jeremy its this simple...

Just live with the JDBC/ODBC Bridge and leave it at that. If you read on the
newsgroups etc, getting Oracle to connect to CFMX via different way, is like
walking into a crowded room of US MARINES and shouting "FREE OSAMA BIN
LADEN"

You may get away with it, but not before pain.
