Before we go lynching the hosting company... Has the last period of paid for hosting expired?
If I was a host and one of my users sent in notice and stopped paying me? I'd turn off access when they're money ran out frankly. If I'd been paid up to the 4th of febuary and you gave me notice on the third, access would drop on the 4th. I'd personally kill http access as well as FTP if I'd recieved notice and the account wasn't paid for. On the other hand.. If you have actually paid for access, sue, and see if you can't get there balls to keep in a jar next to the framed copy of the payout cheque. A lack of professional ethics from IT 'professionals' is the leading pain in the arse for getting work for those of us who refuse to scam our users.
