Thanks for your reply Sean.

Yep, we've got the code capability covered.

I was more concerned about issues such as scopes ... e.g. whether the application/session scopes are maintained in the same manner between CF5 and MX.

From what I can tell, all should be smooth.

Hi Sarah,

Apart from some minor code differences, there shouldnt be any issues with migrating a site from CF5 to CFMX.

Keep in mind HTTPS transactions from CFHTTP/CFINVOKE won't work under MX. But thats about the only place where CF5 applications have yarfed on CFMX for my code.  CFMX has lots of things that aren't in CF5, like you don't ~need~ to lock stuff down and you have all the funky java options.

But going from 5 to mx should only pose minor problems. Keep in mind though if your clustering or load balancing, it really depends on your environment how it'll handle different versions of server software.

Subject: [cfaussie] Mix of CF Versions

Hi All,

We will soon be rolling CFMX out to our production environment. However, we will be doing it one server at time.

Does anyone see any foreseeable issues with having a mix of CFMX and CF5 servers, keeping in mind we don't have sticking sessions?

Thanks,

Sarah.
