In FireworksMX there's a file export button on the default toolbar.
Just up there to the left of the 'print' icon. If you're going to use
the default settings (and if you do this regularly I think you can
change the default settings) then all you'd do is open the image in
fireworks with your right-click menu then hit the export button. It'll
open where you last exported, or you can change that setting to open
where you opened the image from.

You can probably even automate this process if you do it often, but I
don't know the automation/ scripting capabilities of FireworksMX to be
able to advise you on that.

I reckon in the end, if you know your way around Fireworks, you'll be
able to do it as quickly or quicker than in Photoshop. (Incidentally
Photoshop doesn't save all of the formats either. For many formats you
have to export there too)

Hi Mark,

In fireworks you have to use file/export since file/save uses Fireworks
proprietary "enhanced png" format (that saves all layer info). Use the
setting dropdown in the optimise panel to choose the gif format you want
...
from memory GIF websnap 128 is the default so you just need to mark
your
crop area, hit enter to crop it then file/export.

Cheers
Phil
