While I compeltely agree about the Flash interface to the downloads (I just KNOW the pages would load quicker if they were HTML and there is NOTHING on the pages that could not be done in DHTML and CSS) I would like to jump in on one defence......
I have created two accounts with MM - one on my home address and one on my work address.
Both of them always inforrm me regularly of MM releases by email. If I ever forget my password they are always prompt to remail it to me. Not only that, I can also tell them to NOT send me email - and they dont. I find that last thing very useful in this day and age when people seem to be getting my email address from any public webpage I may have ever put it on.
But yes - too much "pretty" not enough "usability". And WAY too much use of Flash for things that should be just straight HTML. I would not care - except that the pages take much longer to load than the equivalent HTML would.
While I am very quickly becoming a "Flash Convert" I am disappointed that "best practice" is not being displayed and promoted on the MM site.
