I'm investigating version control, with the aim of implementing something within the next couple of weeks.
I hoping someone else could share some thoughts, issues found, recommendations, and preferred set-up options. I'm after something that will do multiple CF/HTML/Flash sites, with multiple developers. Development servers are Win2K and developer PCs are WinXP. Something that's 'free' would be really nice. Something that's not MS Source Safe would be nice. Integration with Dreamweaver and or Homesite would be an advantage. I can recall that back in February, Victor and Geoff were saying that the Daemon preferred set-up was WinCVS with tortoiseCVS on the client PCs. Is that still the case. Also, what's people's thoughts on general developer set-ups. If you have multiple projects and multiple developers, should developers all work on a single central development server and ship to a testing server once developer testing has occurred, or should they develop on their own PCs and only ship back to a central server once they've developer tested? Has anyone got any thoughts on the pros and cons of these two options?
