Hello everyone I had a very simple plan when I 'entered' the 'contest'.
I was either going to: - take the book and move to Bolivia or - take the book and blame my sysadmin for not letting me make a public demo available for 'judging'. However, since I have to declare my intentions publicly: I will (attempt to) make a Help Desk application. I will migrate an existing CF application to do this. I foresee three major challenges: 1 - currently it's a CF5 app; 2 - currently, I have no CFMX / CFC experience; and 3 - currently, I have never used Flash (I have, however, played a lot of shockwave games, and I expect this will be enough experience). I will be designing the 'application' for use by my firm when it is finished, and I will be focussing on the remoting side, rather than the GUI side (see point 3 above). Just one final question: where can I find a definition of RIA?? Antony (from VIC, but they may not want to claim me) >>> [EMAIL PROTECTED] 22/08/2003 3:54:42 pm >>> My email address is in the header of the message, in case you can't get it from there it's [EMAIL PROTECTED] I was thinking that there would be more peer pressure to complete your project if you announced your entry on the list :-) so the revised instructions are to email me your physical mail address (for sending the book) off list, and also post an RIA entry to cfaussie. Perhaps if you know what you're going to build, describe it in the post so that others can build something different (or similar if they're feeling competitive). Eight brave entrants so far, Queensland and NSW neck and neck (I've just decided to award another prize to the CFUG fielding the most entrants to up the pressure a bit :-) .
