I had a look at that but it doesn't mention the use of <wct> tags in HTML for flow 
control...

On the server that is hosting the site the <wct> tags are parsed correctly and, for 
example, only the login or logout button is shown.  Unfortunately I can't get at the 
httpd.conf on the server so I can't see if there is something in there that is 
related...  annoying! I'm still pulling my hair out!
