Hi barry

I cant answer your question through the forum as for some reason our
firewall has reverse dns issues and blocks out the daemon domaine.. (has
nothing to do with the fact I used to work for daemon).

Anyway, for your linux question I should be able to help you. 6.1 is easy to
install as the install script is straight to the point. You only have to
change to attributes of the install file using chmod +x installfile and run
the file ./installfile.
If you want to install j2e and multiple instances etc... It's a little more
complicated but not that much. Im running debian woody even though its not
supported by MM but its my friend.

I hope that helps

Fred

Subject: [cfaussie] (confused) questions on CF6.1 for Linux

Hi all.

having not used linux + apache much I'm lost on how to install CF6.1 on it.
I want to blow our IIS CFMX install away (CFMXpro) and install it on Linux
instead. Legally, just transfer the licence to diff OS.

the docs I've found mention updater 3 but 6.1 should be installed, yes? I'm
not clear if JRun has to be installed first. I'm not clear if the linux
version is on the same CD as our IIS CFMX. I'm not even sure if it matters
if it's Redhat of Debian.

an ideas/suggestions/etc?

cheers
