Just download and install 6.1 (it's a full version) from scratch, no need for upgrade. Make sure you have at least apache 1.3.x going and working first and if you havnt got it download it with apt-get. With multiple instances which only works on the J2E versions and uses whatever J2E server you have chosen which must be installed first unless you use the jrun J2E option.

(has nothing to do with the fact I used to work for daemon). Anyway, for your linux question I should be able to help you. 6.1 is easy to install as the install script is straight to the point. You only have to change to attributes of the install file using chmod +x installfile and run the file ./installfile. If you want to install j2e and multiple instances etc... It's a little more complicated but not that much. Im running debian woody even though its not supported by MM but its my friend.
