Taco, You've got me there. This is a snippet I picked up years ago and have used it ever since without actually questioning how or why it works!
I don't know the intracacies of CFID and CFTOKEN enough to explain why, but I'm sure someone will shed some light... Steve: it looks to me like your checking if a cookie with the CFID and CFTOKEN exists, if it exists you assign the values of it back to itself? I'm lost, please enlighten. Does the application not automatically check if they are present if so that's the CFID and CFTOKEN that will be used again? That's how I saw it work on my apps when I depended on cookies. -----Original Message----- From: Beattie, Barry [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Thursday, 13 November 2003 8:10 AM To: CFAussie Mailing List Subject: [cfaussie] RE: sessions won't go away Taco: Ah Ha! so CF sessions DO work differently to ASP ones. Hmmmm........ Steve: thanx, mate. your code seems to work but it's looks like a nasty little hack. <cfif IsDefined("Cookie.CFID") AND IsDefined("Cookie.CFTOKEN")> <cfset cfid_local = Cookie.CFID> <cfset cftoken_local = Cookie.CFTOKEN> <cfcookie name="CFID" value="#cfid_local#"> <cfcookie name="CFTOKEN" value="#cftoken_local#"> </cfif> no other ways to do this (ie: does everyone else use Steve's code)? I was really hoping the JSessionID would work like the ASP session value. close all browsers and you've effectivly ended your session. cheers barry.b -----Original Message----- From: Taco Fleur [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Wednesday, 12 November 2003 6:24 PM To: CFAussie Mailing List Subject: [cfaussie] RE: sessions won't go away As far as I know, sessions need to time-out (the setting in your cfapplication, or default under cf admin) or you need to destroy them...
