But I am sure there are plenty of other people out there that need this solution for the same reasons we do. Barry being one of them. If you don't need it, don't use it. I think this thread is getting a little bit "off track" now. Barry needed to know why his CF sessions did not work like ASP sessions and wanted a solution for that. The solution provided works with the minimal amount of change to the existing system and creates the same behaviour as he is looking for. I simply explained WHY you need it and HOW it works. I know it is possible to do the same thing heaps of other ways than that particular way - but all of them require a lot more work.
