We will soon have CVS talking to Bugzilla, helping to comment bug reports and managing bug status changes too.
Yes, we're looking at adding that integration next (we've been considering it for most of this year!) to reduce the number of email notifications that people send manually by having CVS and Bugzilla communicate like that.
Never liked Bugzilla.. looks like a mess to me. We use TesttrackPro from Seapine (http://www.seapine.com/) -- I think I especially like the fact that I can have a specific desktop client rather than working with a web based interface (though web is also an option). (we also sell this product in Australia so if yer really interested...)
The other issue tracker I've had my eye on for sometime is JIRA (http://www.atlassian.com/) from the boys at Atlassian (an Aussie company). Though it's web based only it has lots of tricks.
Oh -- forget to mention, they're both commercial so bugzilla clearly has an advantage if dollars are a primary concern.
