I could see that part of your question was talking about queries (but I assumed because CF has query caching that you wanted to extend this further than just the query). I would not assume (and am prepare to be corrected by some of the MM people on the list) that the whole 2000 rows are downloaded each time you perform the query. There are ways to optimise how many records are returned for queries at the lower connection levels as well as the packet sizes (number of records per chunk) of records. CFMX is so high level in regard to what can be done at lower points that I doubt there is much you could add at the high level to assist the process (other than using the provided caching mechanisms in CFMX). I expect some of these may be used by CFMX. Once again, I will assume the MM people will correct me on this if I am wrong.
