Another couple of solutions you may want to look at are:

Jetform Central (now called Adobe Output Server i think). If you client runs
SAP chances are they have this product. It will produce a PDF from a data
stream as well as printing it automatcially to a printer at the same time.
You can do all sorts of funky things like adding page numbers, printing to
different trays, basically anything u can change in the print dialog.

You need to create the base template file first in their designer program
however. It works well if you want to print standard documents like invoices
or purchase orders etc etc. (it costs about 14 grand for a server liscence
tho). They accept XML data streams too.

Their are a few competing products that are alot cheaper. FormTrap is an
aussie one ive heard of that does a similar thing.
