This has been driving me nuts for the past 6 months or so - and I'm not sure why it's
happening.
Win2k, MX6.0 Updater 3 system.
I keep getting errors that look like this (or similar):
--
Errors reported by Java compiler: Found 1 semantic error
compiling "C:/CFusionMX/wwwroot/WEB-INF/cfclasses/cfApplication2ecfm2133981550.java":
1.
public final class cfApplication2ecfm2133981550 extends coldfusion.runtime.CFPage{
<-----------
---------------> *** Error: Cannot write class file
"cfApplication2ecfm2133981550.class" because
that name conflicts with the name of the class file
"cfapplication2ecfm2133981550.class" in
directory "cfclasses". This is illegal because file names are case-insensitive in this
system. .

The solution always seems to be to login to the server, delete the offending file, and
then use
the updater_compile.bat to recompile the .cfm pages. Then it works fine.
I get similar errors (or errors with a similar solution) sometimes with pages that
simply come
up blank, or instances of CFCs within persistant scopes throwing odd errors.
The only consistant thing I can seem to find is that once a night I run a scheduled
task that
places a whole bunch of CFC instances into the application scope. Sometimes this can
take a
couple of minutes. It SEEMS as if a user tries to hit the system during this task,
the .class files
get corrupted somehow, and I need to recompile the entire system before it comes back
to life.
Otherwise these errors seem totally random?
Does anyone else have this problem?
Does anyone know if 6.1 fixes them (if it does, yay!)
Thanks for anyone's help in advance.
Mark
