It's an interesting idea, must admit that it crossed my mind before...
First thing I'd imagine that you'd have to do is to get Central to connect to a NNTP server. Then address whether you're going to cache the posts on the client side or grab them live as you need them.
You should also post this to Fugli as there are Flash developers there who are not on this list.
