Hey all, I'm doing some work on a page that's going to have some English text and some Chinese text on it. To get the Chinese text to display properly I need this META tag at the top of the page:
<meta http-equiv="content-type" content="text/html; charset=gb2312"> Now that all works fine, but some of the English text on the page uses curly single and double quotes.. you know the 'smart' quotes that Word uses. When I change the character set of the page to Chinese, all the curly quotes get replaced by a Chinese character. Is there a way to display Chinese text, but still display curly quotes? Also, I can use the Big5 character set instead of the gb2312, which is the best one to use? thanks, bye! ----------------------- Ryan Sabir Newgency Pty Ltd 2a Broughton St Paddington 2021 Sydney, Australia Ph (02) 9331 2133 Fax (02) 9331 5199 Mobile: 0411 512 454 http://www.newgency.com/index.cfm?referer=rysig --- You are currently subscribed to cfaussie as: [EMAIL PROTECTED] To unsubscribe send a blank email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] MXDU2004 + Macromedia DevCon AsiaPac + Sydney, Australia http://www.mxdu.com/ + 24-25 February, 2004
