Hey all,

I'm doing some work on a page that's going to have some English text
and some Chinese text on it. To get the Chinese text to display
properly I need this META tag at the top of the page:

<meta http-equiv="content-type" content="text/html; charset=gb2312">

Now that all works fine, but some of the English text on the page uses
curly single and double quotes.. you know the 'smart' quotes that Word
uses. When I change the character set of the page to Chinese, all the
curly quotes get replaced by a Chinese character. Is there a way to
display Chinese text, but still display curly quotes?

Also, I can use the Big5 character set instead of the gb2312, which is
the best one to use?

thanks, bye!
