Big5 is still used far more on the web. Unicode will eventually pass it but, like HTML, there's an awful lot of big5 to get past.
If you switch to big5, I might be able to offer some help. Or have a look at the searches on my favourite website www.hkmdb.com/db/search (Hong Kong movie database, can search for people's names and movie titles in English or big5.
