I feel your pain Jeremy Can you answer some of these questions:
What OS are you on? What is the contents of your hosts file (specifically in relation to localhost)? Have you updated the paths in the connector batch file? I've seen that error before and have had issues with the connectors but there were a whole range of problem & fixes so if you can answer the above I might be able to help.
