Just asking those people who write CF code on a Linux platform which
editor they use...

I mainly develop on Windows, but when I'm working on Linux (usually testing and debugging stuff) I use Quanta (quanta.sourceforge.net). I was just using Kate until someone on cf-linux recommended Quanta, which is built on the Kate libraries. Of course, you'll need KDE for Kate or Quanta.

I did give JEdit a go, but tbh, I thought it was just way too clunky and awkward to use for CFML development.

Are there any plug-ins for Linux text editors that will set them up to
easily write CF code, e.g. syntax colouring, tag attribute hints, etc?

You can easily add syntax highlighting in Quanta for CF. I know it's also possible to define tags and functions and support for HTML and PHP is built in. I never got around to it, but it should be easy enough to do the same for CF, if it hasn't already been done.

BTW, I heard recently on the bluedragon interest list that there are CFML plugins available for Eclipse. see http://sourceforge.net/projects/openxcf/ and http://cfeclipse.rohanclan.com.

Mark
