Rod, you've got a point but the users of the "admin" will have to
understand what is happening. All it will take is for someone to see that
a record is locked and that "it was a while ago now" (meanwhile their
computer clock is wrong and the record is being edited on right now).
If you could tie up instant messaging ("they're not answering so it'll be
OK") then Rod, your solution would be just the ticket.
But if you rely on humans (teachers in this case) to control this then you
could be opening up a whole other can of worms.
the best solution could be to design so the locking isn't needed. bypass
the whole problem.
probably not the answer Rob wants to hear...
