As Sean mentioned...... SAN or NAS central file store.  All our
servers are "dumb" in regard to anything other than the OS and the
CFMX server (and any other application software).  All the "web"
related files (like CFMX pages, images, PDF's, other generated files,
etc.) are stored on the SAN/NAS unit.

In our case, we have two NAS units in a redundant configuration (if
one dies the other wakes up).

Our "disposable" assets (such as copies of PDF's that are published
for download) are stored on another file server with a raid array.

We also use a hardware load balancer with sticky sessions.
