Hi All,
A reminder about NSW CFUG this evening - an early start at 5:30, presentation at 6:00. If you think you'll have trouble getting away from work tell your manager it's free training.
I've been putting together the caching presentation - I'm going to be talking about the relationship between request time and scalability, caching HTML output on dynamic sites, but also about caching the results or exceptions returned by any function anywhere in your code. Caching is flexible and easy to retrofit onto existing sites - and it can be completely compatible with highly dynamic page content.
At the same time I've cooked up a sample app - a blog that relies entirely on a WDDX packet for persistence, and is built in a Model-View-Controller (MVC) pattern without any framework whatsoever. It's nice and small, and easy to understand, so if you've been wondering what MVC is all about this is a great opportunity to see a simple example and ask questions.
If you have any particular pizza preferences let me know off list. Hope to see a lot of you there!
Cheers, Robin

With a 5.30pm for 6pm start we're going to try the idea of beer and pizza on arrival (to get you in the mood), one speaker for the evening with an earlier finish time of 7pm leaving plenty of time for the diehards to head off to the pub afterwards to argue the finer points.
We're also on the lookout for new presenters, some have indicated an interest already, with plenty of geek loot for bribery and corruption to tempt you out front. Don't feel that you have to be a Sean Corfield, there's lots of great tales from the trenches that we have to share with each other.
Details for tomorrow night:
What? Event: NSW CFUG
Who?
Presenter: Robin Hilliard is presenting - Caching, when 10 millisecond request times are barely fast enough
Where?
Red Square, 49 Greek Street, Glebe (behind the Broadway shopping centre, close to bus, trains, parking, helipad??)
When?
Tuesday, 20 July, 5.30pm (food) for 6pm start (presentation), remember faster compile time now means home in time for...
Looking forward to seeing you there.
Andrew
