It can also be used to index database content but the drawback here is if the database content changes the index should be optimised and updated.
ColdFusion MX Standard allows you to index up to 125,000 documents per "collection". ColdFusion MX Enterprised up to 250,000 documents per "collection".
ColdFusion MX also ships with Verity K2, a high-performance full-text search engine. Macromedia will be beefing up the Verity services in Blackstone so it is worth the effort to investigate if it suits your purposes.

Subject: [cfaussie] Searching the site - what's Verity like?
Date: 19/08/04 23:31
Hi all,
I want to provide a way of searching my site. At the moment I have a Google form created by a Dreamweaver extension. It's not very pretty.
I read about Verity in the ColdFusion Bible and want to know what everyone thinks of it before I start playing. Does anyone use it to provide searching for their sites?
If not, what do you use. What is the best commercial product?
TIA
Tom MacKean
