I now seem to be getting put on hold almost every week.
Is this increase in being put 'on hold' something that other people are
experiencing, or is it just something that I need to sort out at my end?

Lyris puts you on hold after your email account bounces x number of mails from the list. That may be happening cos your office is bouncing mail from our domain (ie you have us blacklisted), your mail system is responding to headers in the lists email (ie. flagging the list emails as spam), or your account is genuinely faulty.

It's worth noting that *.daemon.com.au has been blacklisted several times this year on account of folks reporting the domain as an open relay. Unfortunately for us some spam groups have been using our domain as a REPLY-TO address for junk email. Obviously we have nothing to do with these people.

When we find a blacklisting we normally appeal and have the situation resolved. But it can lead to windows where you don't receive mail from us.

Incidentally if you are an admin managing a mail server I'd encourage you to use black lists that actually *verify* that a mail server has been compromised rather than relying on the intelligence of folks reporting abuse based on the REPLY-TO field ;) One such black list is the open relay database at http://www.ordb.org/

PS. I've fixed the lists display at http://lists.daemon.com.au/
