In fact any trained educator will point out that to 'teach' requires a wide range of pedagogical practices. Personally, I'd define 'teaching' as the facilitation of guided learning. People (especially children) will learn despite what anyone else does. What they learn can be guided by others. Such guidance is a good definition of teaching.
