Hey Jon I've been pretty cynical about conferences in the past - thinking of them as a nice few days off and a good chance to network and catch up with people I only really know from mailing lists like this. Being a cocky bastard I thought I knew it all anyway and I wasn't going to really gain anything.
I've been to two conferences this year; MXDU and WE04. I can honestly say I have walked out of both of these conferences inpired and more to the point they have made tangible differences to the way that my team and I work. Some really priceless light bulb moments have come out of it. And you'll also get to meet Scott Barnes in the flesh which is an experience you're not going to forget in a hurry (I'm still having nightmares).
