not sure what will happen if the server admin has disabled cfftp. you need
to check cfftp.succeeded.

also there is a parameter passive="yes" or "no" - this is different types of
hosts but can be affected by firewalls i think

I had the same CFFTP grief as Mike last year. Same result too - give up
and try something else.

if someone cracks this, could you please post the solution up to the
list? I don't need it ATM but I'm still damn curious!

thanx

Lisa I had this problem too.

I set up an application that worked beautifully from my dev machine,
and when I uploaded the code to the production server it wouldn't
work. I got the same error. I know the code worked because it worked
ok on my dev machine.

I came to the conclusion that it was a permissions issue. I decided
that ColdFusion didnt have permission to FTP out from the server. I
think that's the default setting on a server, but I might be wrong on
that. I suggest you get your Sysadmin to check that ColdFusion has
the right permissions. I never did make it work, because we changed
some other things and it eliminated the need I stopped working on the
issue at that point and left it unresolved. So i'd like to know what
you end up doing if you wouldn't mind posting the solution once you
have one.
