Hi Matthew,

A shot in the dark perhaps...

Make sure that server2.whatever.com is defined in the 'hosts' file of the computer that is including the CF content (or whatever the *nix equivalent od the 'hosts' file is). I suspect that the delay is likely to be the DNS lookup.

Regards,

Hi All,

Just wondering if anyone has had any experience with combining PHP and Coldfusion.

Here is the scenario...

We have a client who runs a website which is running on PHP. They have another server which is running coldfusion (as they don't want to run php and coldfusion on the same machine). There is a news component which we have built in CF and they are including these "components" into the website using PHP includes. eg <?php include("http://server2.whatever.com/news.cfm";); ?>
It works but 9 times out of 10 it is extremely slow (like 25 - 40 seconds to load) (even locally). When we comment out the includes the page loads instantaneously. If we run the coldfusion pages it also loads instantaneously. I am assuming that the transfer of data from CF -> PHP and then display is what is causing the delay. Just wondering if anyone has had any experience with this?

Thanks all....
