Good idea.  Just because a sponsor pays money to a conference
organiser, and has a stand and promotional materials around doesn't
mean we have to pay them any mind.   Just like any other advertising
in the world.

And if Daemon could get Sun, Linux distros etc to pony up the bucks,
why not? Better for MXDU to soak up their promotional dollars than the
people who might compete with you and me.  And it might make the
ticket prices a little lower for the rest of us.  And who knows, you
might just learn something that's of use to you.  Even if all it is is
knowing your competitor a little better.
