I posted earlier that there are winners and losers in these things.
I've been through a lot of these upheavals, and every time, folks have
said 'well he's gonna go that's for sure, and so's he, and so's she",
and every time, surprises have resulted.

When they come to put these two organisations together in Australia,
there will be duplications and some people will find new career paths.

But you can't say just because Adobe are buying Macromedia, that they
wont need any of the current MM staff. that's ridiculous to say and
Peter it was wrong of you to say so. Whoever is in charge
afterwards (and it won't neceessarily be the Adobe head guy) will
assess all the tasks he's got to fill, and look at the total
collection of people he's got to choose from.

After it all settles down, there will be some Macromedia people and
some Adobe people in the new combined company. Some of the Adobe
people will quit, others will go, and the same with some of the
Macromedia people. Probably most of the new company will be Adobe
people, but it's by no means a given.

After all, the new company has to promote and develop ColdFusion.
Where are they going to find ColdFusion people? Macromedia isnt fat
with overstaffing - they'll need almost all of those people to do the
tasks that'll still need doing.

It's FAR too early to make predictions about who will stay and who will go.
