bugger! not even for localhost on a dev
workstation? that'd be all that I want...

aye,
Shane, agreed. cfdump is all very well but until you've used something else, you
don't realise how clumsy these ham-fisted (cfdump/cfabort) debugging
methods are. If Visual Interdev 6.0 could debug ASP pages in 2001 then surely in
2005 a CF editor can have the same sort of features...
...or
has Spike got that going in CFEclipse? if so I'll consider
moving...
--------Original Message-----I read somewhere on the MM site that remote debugging isn't supported over RDS on an MX server. I think it is just in HS+ for backwards compatability.

The problem with putting cfdump/cfabort's in the code is I end up with junk in the database/file system. If I can step through (and hopefully change the vars on the fly) I can get all the way through with the desired outcome. Another problem is the code is spread over a lot of files in different areas and does a lot of complex processing. I spent about 45 minutes finding where the var was set when a debugger (like Visual Studio - which is very nice at it) would have got the job done in one run of the page.
