I hate to say this but you are better off bugging the crap out of Recruitment firms. Most go through them now days (high-end of town that is). Data-3 seem to have most of the brissy market wrapped up in terms of recruitment.
There are a few govt department(s) with fragmented development (ASP + CFMX mix). Along with obvious companies like Tourism Qld - which when they do hire, isn't exactly high $$ ;) and the company is going through a massive transition with Outback Australia taking over the reigns, so there may be some growin pains associated there. TQ is/was split into two parts, Tourism QLD as in "Queensland Flag wavers" and Sunlover Holidays, the two have different parts of the "brain" so to speak. So bare that in mind (not sure how the Outback Aust takeover plays a role. ABN AMRO has some talented folk there, but nore sure if they are hiring and gary is picky about his employees hehehe :) - but if you do get the opp to work for them, grab it. Inco Mining (where I work) has had in the past some positions avail, but we are data-3 all the way, so yeah look to them for the foot in the door.
