information stored against them. What do you guys do?

In Speck the file keeps it's original name, but is stored in a directory named:

#ContentObjectUUID#_#ContentObjectVersion#_#propertyname#

Some example directory names:

DBA0317A-D380-4D3D-8B0289C24B44B2BA_1_original
DBA0317A-D380-4D3D-8B0289C24B44B2BA_1_thumbnail

This is all managed for the developer creating the content type by the code in the "asset" property type provided with Speck. Optionally the assets can be kept securely outside the webroot and downloaded using cfcontent after authentication - again handled by the asset property code - what a nice CMS :-)

BTW, Mark and I opened up the license for Speck back in April to the Academic Free License (AFL) version 2.1 - it was previously released under RPL, which while open source probably confused some potential users.

Cheers,
Robin
