The key here is "of different types".

The likelihood of getting something that can take *any* document type is very low.

If you wanted to install OFFICE on your server - then you could handle printing those to a PDF through sets of COM calls.  Then you could use something like ActivePDF to concat the PDF documents.

I guess what I am saying is that the process is probably going to be:

* upload the document
* convert it to PDF (in some way - and the process is probably different for each type of document)
* repeat the above for the different documents
* then concatenate the PDF's (probably with ActivePDF - or by a homegrown process that uses Adobe Acrobat on the server)

I think whatever solution you come up with it will be a set of hybrid technologies rather than just one.

Gary

Hi,

I'm about to embark on a new function that will allow a user to upload a
number of documents (of different types) and then publish the combined
set of documents in one PDF.

This will run on a CF6.1 installation so I'm looking for something I can
call from CF to create the PDF from the input documents. Can anyone
recommend a product to suit?

Many thanks,

Brett

ps. What happened to the 'search' function for cfaussie on
lists.daemon.com.au? Is it broken or has the archive been dumped?
