I havent tried it but you could try it for me:P

get the serial number out of the administrator, just so you have a copy,

then update the serial number to be "Developer". This is what seems to be

in there if you install developer version. From here you should have access

to everything, including the archiving and deployment area.

Archive your settings, and then uninstall.

Install your new version, but as developer edition aswell. deploy your

archive with all your previous settings like datasources and stuff, and then

enter your new key

Saves you setting everything up again from scratch

Is the upgrade method possible/safe though?

We have quite a lot of DSN's, mappings, CFX's and other settings that would be painful to add manually and also we don't want to change. Also being a production server would not want it to go down for long.

The other settings that would be tweaked could be changed manually later regardless of being the old CF 6.1 settings or not.
