Our webservice is hooked up for a third party C++ client. Admittedly the client is not driven by the WSDL (but that is only because they did not want to go to that effort). The point being - we do use CFMX webservices outside of the CFMX environment. In the reverse sense, we have had tools developed by a third party that monitor a stock exchanged feed service. This application is written using VB.Net. From CFMX we are able to use <CFINVOKE> to the application as a webservice to obtain information about the process as well as query information. It is still a work in progress (meaning we are still implementing more functionality) but the connectivity is fully functional.
