I saw that too and thought it was a little strange at first. However, Christian clearly deliniated CFC's that are front end facade CFC's for HTML and other facades for Flash which work with back end stuff. The HTML facade cfc's don't do any display all they do is act as a controller to handle the form submission and then do a cflocation to the display template.
I wouldn't use the technique myself--I like a centralized controller ala fusebox--but I think it's a neat technique and don't see anything wrong with it.
