My other comments were related to WHY Cold Fusion as a language (regardless of implementation platform) does NOT support passing OBJECTS by value. IE. the language itself does not support the mechanisms to automatically clone an object (e.g. a formal constructor and formal method overloading). And - to do a deep copy in C++ you have to write your own overloaded constructor (which will generally call a method called Clone or Copy or maybe DeepCopy).
