Whilst I won't call out specific books here, I would direct folks to the OO book review section of the ACCU website (Association of C & C++ Users):

It doesn't cover all the books I'd like to see but it's a good starting point for the good, the bad and the downright ugly in OO books. The ACCU reviews aren't perfect but they are definitely a view from the trenches by (mostly) hardened C/C++ developers.
