If a variable that CF creates bothers you or gets in your way somehow, i 'spose you could try nuking the cfquery structure at the end of any function that uses a query. Don't know if that would affect your debugging output (maybe that's why that's in there???). Better yet is to use a memento pattern and not have any queries in your business objects.
