Sean: You're right. Added your comments, but the error stayed.
You probably still have the old code cached in application scope. Restart your CF server to clean up the cache or use structDelete() to selectively remove cached CFC instances from application scope.
This is always a problem when developing applications where you cached items in shared scopes...
